Abandoned Cart Postcard Campaigns

Every digital re-targeting channel fights for the same screen real estate. A personalised postcard arrives in a completely different environment — the letterbox — where it has zero competition. TouchDrop automates this for Australian Shopify brands.

Why physical mail works for cart recovery

Email abandoned cart sequences are table stakes — every brand runs them. Meta retargeting is a bidding war. SMS recovery is effective but invasive for many customers. A postcard stands out because it's rare. The average Australian household receives a handful of personalised direct mail pieces per month, compared to dozens of marketing emails per day.

A postcard also has physical permanence — it sits on a kitchen counter or pinboard, visible every day until the customer acts on it or throws it away. No inbox to get buried in.

How TouchDrop automates abandoned cart postcards

Trigger detection

TouchDrop monitors your Shopify store for customers who reach the checkout stage but don't complete the purchase. The trigger fires after a configurable delay — typically 24–48 hours — giving digital re-targeting channels a chance to recover first.

Personalised postcard

Each postcard is printed with the customer's first name and a unique discount code generated in your Shopify store. Your artwork and messaging — personalised per recipient at the point of print.

Australia Post delivery

TouchDrop sends print-ready files to our print partner and dispatches via Australia Post Print Post. Delivery to Australian addresses typically takes 3–7 business days depending on postcode zone.

QR tracking and attribution

Each postcard has a unique QR code. When the customer scans and places an order within 60 days, the revenue is attributed to the postcard campaign. You see the ROAS in your TouchDrop dashboard.

Suppression — prevent annoying customers who already purchased

TouchDrop checks whether a customer has completed a purchase between the trigger event and the postcard print date. If they've already converted through another channel (email, retargeting), the postcard is suppressed — you don't send a win-back offer to someone who's already bought.

This is configured automatically. You don't need to manage a manual exclusion list.

  2. A postcard artwork file (A5 or DL format, print-ready PDF or high-res PNG)
