Klaviyo segment
A Klaviyo segment is a dynamic, rule-based group of contacts that updates automatically as contacts meet or leave the defined criteria. Segments can be built using any combination of Klaviyo profile properties, event history, and predictive analytics.
How Klaviyo segments are used in TouchDrop
TouchDrop integrates with your Klaviyo account and lets you select any existing segment as the audience for a postcard campaign. When you launch a campaign targeting a Klaviyo segment, TouchDrop pulls the current members of that segment, validates their addresses, applies suppression rules, and queues the postcard send.
For ongoing triggered campaigns, TouchDrop can monitor a Klaviyo segment for new entrants and automatically mail each new member when they enter — combining Klaviyo's segmentation power with TouchDrop's postcard automation.
Common segments used for direct mail
- Win-back segment — Customers with no order in 90+ days and low email engagement over the last 30 days
- VIP / high-LTV — Customers in the top 10% by lifetime value, useful for exclusive offers
- Post-email non-openers — Contacts in a specific flow who haven't opened any of the last 3 emails — reach them via a different channel
- Category purchasers — Customers who bought from one category but haven't purchased from a complementary one
Suppression interaction
TouchDrop applies its own suppression rules on top of Klaviyo segment membership. A customer in the win-back Klaviyo segment who already received a TouchDrop postcard in the last 45 days will be excluded from the new send — even though they still appear in the Klaviyo segment. Both layers of suppression work together.
