PostPilot Review: What It Does Well and Where It Stops
PostPilot is one of the most established direct mail platforms for US Shopify brands, listed on the Shopify App Store since 2018. TouchDrop competes with it, so weigh this review knowing that. Every fact below comes from PostPilot's own pages or its App Store listing, linked here.
Last updated: 26 September 2026. Checked against postpilot.com/pricing, postpilot.com/faq and PostPilot's Shopify App Store listing.
Our verdict: PostPilot is a strong choice for a US or UK brand that wants a team to run direct mail across prospecting, retargeting and retention, and its Shopify reviews back that up. It is a weaker fit if you want a low fixed cost, mail only a few hundred cards a month, or sell to customers outside the US and UK: every plan is priced in USD and its print plants are in the US and London.
What PostPilot does well
- A team that does the work. Growth includes built-for-you winback and retargeting automations, a kickoff strategy call and monthly design. Pro adds a dedicated account manager, a data science team and unlimited creative.
- The full funnel. AcquisitionAI builds lookalike prospect audiences, SiteMatch retargets anonymous site visitors, and MailMatch finds postal addresses for US email prospects.
- Klaviyo depth. PostPilot syncs Klaviyo lists and segments and says it is the only direct mail company with Klaviyo Premier Tech Partner status.
- Holdout-tested reporting. Its dashboards report holdout-tested incremental ROAS, and it tracks each Shopify customer who received a card for 60 days.
- Its own print plants and formats. PostPilot prints in its own facilities in South Carolina, Arizona and London, and offers three US postcard sizes, robot-handwritten cards and a trifold Cardalog. Its Halo product links mail to Amazon Seller Central revenue.
Where PostPilot stops
- Two countries, one currency. PostPilot prints for the US and the UK and charges in USD, UK customers included. In the UK it offers A5 postcards only, for existing-customer campaigns, with prospecting listed as coming soon.
- A fixed fee before the first card. The free plan gives you the platform and reports; running the core automations starts at Growth's US$99 a month, and the managed team at Pro's US$499.
- Prospecting needs scale. Its FAQ recommends at least 20,000 recipients for an AcquisitionAI campaign and accepts 5,000 at the smallest.
- A data trade-off for the AI features. AcquisitionAI and category insights require opting in to PostPilot using your aggregated transactional data to train its models. PostPilot says no brand's data is shared with another, and its site footer states that it is a data broker under Texas law.
What merchants say on the Shopify App Store
PostPilot's Shopify listing shows 4.9 stars from 176 reviews: 174 five-star, one four-star and one one-star, on an app first listed in May 2018. The three reviews the listing shows first, all from September 2026, name their account managers and credit them with campaign ideas, segmentation and results across prospecting and retargeting. That matches what PostPilot sells, a managed service more than software. App Store reviews come from merchants who chose to write one, so read them as evidence of service quality rather than of the return a typical brand gets.
PostPilot plans and card prices
US postcard prices include postage. UK A5 cards are 79 cents on Growth and from 59 cents on Pro, also in USD.

Who should use PostPilot, and who should look elsewhere
Good fit
US brands with US$1m or more in annual sales (PostPilot pitches Growth at US$1m to US$3m) that want an outsourced direct mail programme with prospecting, and UK brands mailing existing customers who are happy to pay in USD.
Look elsewhere
Brands whose customers are in Australia, where PostPilot does not print; developer teams who want an API they control; and small senders who would rather not carry a monthly fee.
For Australian customers, TouchDrop runs the retention side of the same playbook (winback, abandoned-cart and post-purchase cards from Shopify, Klaviyo or Omnisend) printed and lodged inside Australia and billed in AUD. It does not offer prospecting, handwritten cards or a managed team.
Frequently asked questions
Is PostPilot worth it?
For a US Shopify brand that wants direct mail run for it, the record is strong: 4.9 stars from 176 Shopify App Store reviews, with recent reviewers crediting their account managers and reporting results from prospecting and retargeting. Whether it pays for your brand depends on margin and volume, so use its free plan's reports and a holdout before committing budget.
How much does PostPilot cost?
The free plan gives platform access and reports. Growth is US$99 a month (US$82.50 billed annually) with US 4x6 postcards at 68 cents, postage included. Pro is US$499 a month (US$419 billed annually) with 4x6 postcards at 64 cents or less by volume. Enterprise is custom, for 50,000+ pieces a month. Checked 26 September 2026.
Does PostPilot work in Australia?
Its pricing and FAQ pages cover US printing from South Carolina and Arizona and UK printing from London, and do not mention Australia. TouchDrop is the Australian option: cards printed and lodged inside Australia via Australia Post, billed in AUD with GST.
What do I have to agree to for PostPilot's AI features?
PostPilot AI features such as AcquisitionAI and category insights need an opt-in that lets PostPilot use your data, aggregated with other brands', to train its models. Its FAQ says participant data is never shared with other brands and opting out keeps every campaign type available without the AI features.
