AU Post Print Post

Print Post is Australia Post's bulk-addressed direct mail service — the postal product used for delivering marketing postcards, catalogues, and brochures to Australian addresses. It's the primary delivery infrastructure behind TouchDrop's postcard campaigns.

Print Post at a glance

Print Post vs regular postage

Print Post is a volume-based commercial service with rates significantly lower than retail postage. Access to Print Post rates requires lodging mail through a licensed print and mail house — which is exactly what TouchDrop does. Individual brands sending postcards via regular retail postage would pay substantially more per piece than TouchDrop's platform rate.

Addressing requirements

Australia Post has specific addressing standards for Print Post: correct postcode, suburb name in uppercase, state abbreviation, and a correctly formatted street address. TouchDrop validates all recipient addresses against these requirements before including them in a batch. Addresses that don't meet the standard are flagged and excluded from the send rather than being dispatched with a risk of non-delivery.

Tracking and delivery confirmation

Standard Print Post does not include individual-piece tracking in the way parcels do. TouchDrop uses QR code scans as a proxy for delivery confirmation — if the QR is scanned, the postcard was clearly delivered and read. Campaign-level delivery estimates are based on lodgement date and Australia Post's published delivery timelines for the destination postcode zone.
