QR redemption
QR redemption is the process of a postcard recipient scanning the printed QR code and completing a desired action — typically visiting a landing page, entering a discount code, or placing an order. The redemption rate is the percentage of postcard recipients who scan the QR code.
How QR codes work on TouchDrop postcards
Every postcard produced by TouchDrop includes a unique QR code generated for that specific recipient. The QR code encodes a unique tracking URL that identifies the campaign, the individual recipient, and the send date. When the customer scans the code with their phone, the visit is recorded and the customer is redirected to the destination URL (typically your Shopify store or a campaign-specific landing page).
What's tracked
- Scan count — How many times the QR code was scanned (including multiple scans by the same recipient)
- Unique scanners — The number of distinct recipients who scanned the code
- Attributed orders — Orders placed on your Shopify store within 60 days of the scan by the same customer
QR redemption vs discount code redemption
TouchDrop tracks conversions through both channels. QR redemption captures customers who scan the code and proceed to checkout. Discount code redemption captures customers who noticed the postcard, remembered the code, and entered it at checkout without scanning the QR. Both are included in the attributed revenue calculation for your campaign ROAS.
QR code format
TouchDrop generates QR codes at a size and error-correction level appropriate for postcard printing at 300 DPI. The codes remain scannable at the dimensions used in the standard A5 postcard template. Custom QR code colours and embedded logos are supported in the template editor.
